Every question this site answers, on one page

The ones answered in a paragraph live here. The ones that need a figure or a window link out to the cluster they belong in. Below, the ones frequently asked by people opening an account for a first order.

Short answers, with the long one a click away

Eight labelled boxes naming the clusters: paying, buying, photographing, storing, sending, fixing, deciding and knowing
The eight clusters and the kind of question that belongs in each. Anything not answered below lives in one of them.

This page carries the questions that arrive most often and are answered in a paragraph. The ones that need a figure, a window or a table live in the cluster pages, linked beside each entry. Everything below was read on the company's own pages on 21 and 22 October 2026.

Does this service charge a commission on what I buy?

Posted rule

The fees page builds the total out of three parts: the goods, the freight, and a declaration charge at the border, with no other charges beyond optional extras. A newer charges page lists a possible service fee among the things that may appear and promises all of it is displayed before payment.

Read on Whalebuy's Service & Fees page, 21 and 22 October 2026.

In practice

The default is no commission; the newer page is a ceiling rather than a price list. The checkout total before you confirm is what settles it.

Misread as

The no-commission line gets quoted as a guarantee rather than as a description of the normal case.

How long does the whole thing take?

Posted rule

Four published stages. The buying desk works daytime orders within six hours and overnight ones by early afternoon the next day. Sellers typically post within three to seven days. Domestic delivery to the warehouse runs one to two days from the nearest province and about a week from distant ones. Checking and booking in is about a working day. International transit is whatever the route you pick says.

Read on Whalebuy's Shopping Order Processing Time page, 21 and 22 October 2026.

In practice

Two to three weeks door to door is a reasonable expectation on an economy line with a prompt seller. Anything made to order, pre-sold or seasonal breaks that estimate entirely.

Misread as

People add up only the transit figure from the estimator. Most of the elapsed time happens before the parcel exists.

Can I buy from several shops and send them together?

Posted rule

Yes, that is the normal pattern: goods from different sellers gather in one warehouse and you build a parcel from whatever is stored. Buying several items from one seller in one submitted order also means the domestic delivery charge is levied once rather than per item.

Read on Whalebuy's buy several items from the same seller, how much the domestic shipping fee is? page, 21 and 22 October 2026.

In practice

Submit same-seller items together to save a domestic leg, then consolidate across sellers at the parcel stage to save the opening freight step.

Misread as

People submit each item separately as they find it and pay domestic postage several times over from the same shop.

Can I change a size after submitting the order?

Posted rule

Only while the seller has not posted. The page says the agent will negotiate a change at that stage; once the seller has dispatched, the route is a return after the goods reach the warehouse, followed by a fresh order, with the domestic return leg billed to you.

Read on Whalebuy's Can I modify my order after the order has been submitted? page, 21 and 22 October 2026.

In practice

Get it right at submission. The gap between submitting and the seller posting is often a few hours, not a few days.

Misread as

The order view looks editable because the option menu is still visible on the listing. The purchase itself has already been placed with the seller.

Every question

The awkward ones

My account is locked and I did not do anything.

Posted rule

Two published triggers: a transaction under review that needs more information from you, and a dispute or chargeback raised with a card issuer or wallet, which locks the account automatically. Buying, dispatch and refunds all pause. The page promises a reply within a day.

Read on Whalebuy's Why is my WHALEBUY account locked? page, 21 and 22 October 2026.

In practice

If a bank dispute was opened on your behalf by someone else, or raised and forgotten, withdraw it and say so. That is the published route back.

Misread as

A chargeback is used as a complaint channel. Here it stops every other channel working.

The seller threw in a free gift. Does it come to me?

Posted rule

Yes. The published rule is that a seller's gift is yours whatever it is worth, and it travels in your parcel unless you declined it or it cannot be mailed. The conditions are that a specific gift must be asked for in the order notes, that no guarantee is given the seller will include one, and that gifts are not inspected or covered after the sale.

Read on Whalebuy's How would you handle if seller sends some gifts to my order? page, 21 and 22 October 2026.

In practice

Treat a gift as a bonus with no recourse attached. It also adds weight to the parcel, which is occasionally an unwelcome surprise on a tight freight bracket.

Misread as

An advertised gift that does not arrive is read as a missing item. It is outside the after-sales scope by the published rule.

I have seen two different cities named as the warehouse.

Posted rule

Plan around Xiamen, in Fujian: Whalebuy's processing-time FAQs place the warehouse there, and a stray mention of another city on one older timing notice is not the one to schedule by. The street address itself is not published; the transfer instructions say it comes from the transfer-order form or online support once you are signed in.

Read on Whalebuy's How Long does Chinese domestic delivery take? page, 21 and 22 October 2026.

In practice

Neither page is usable as an address. Take the one your account gives you and ignore the help centre entirely for this.

Misread as

The contradiction gets read as evidence of something sinister. The duller explanation is a help centre shared across sibling brands that nobody finished editing.

Where is the community channel the homepage advertises?

Posted rule

The homepage carries a banner inviting buyers to a chat community, and a help page lists that community alongside the official announcements and a forum as places vouchers get handed out. No invitation address appears anywhere in the published help centre.

Read on Whalebuy's Where can I get a shipping discount coupon? page, 21 and 22 October 2026.

In practice

If you want in, follow the banner from the signed-in site rather than from a link somebody pasted in a thread. Invitation links for services like this are a standard phishing target.

Misread as

A link found in a search result gets assumed to be official. The company does not publish one anywhere a visitor can see.

Some help pages are blank or in Chinese.

Posted rule

The published help centre contains a handful of unfinished entries, including two obvious test articles and several promotional pages whose titles were never translated. They sit in the same lists as the real pages.

Observed across the published help index, 21 and 22 October 2026.

In practice

Skip them. Nothing in them is policy, and none of them is referenced by any working page.

Misread as

An empty page gets read as a removed policy. It was never a policy; it was somebody testing the editor.
